APC Suspends Former Minister Rauf Aregbesola Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has announced the suspension of former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, citing accusations of anti-party activities and the creation of division within the party.

In an official resolution sent to the APC National Secretariat and addressed to the National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, Osun APC leaders claimed that Aregbesola, who previously served as governor of Osun State, has been responsible for creating a splinter faction within the party. This division, they argue, undermines party unity at a time when cohesion is crucial for maintaining political stability in the state.

According to the party’s statement, Aregbesola’s influence over certain factions within the APC has intensified internal disputes and weakened the party’s structure in the state. This suspension marks a firm response from the party leadership as they attempt to reinforce unity and address what they view as disloyalty within their ranks.

Aregbesola’s suspension underscores ongoing challenges within the APC as it works to solidify its position and address growing concerns about factionalism and loyalty, particularly in politically sensitive areas like Osun State. The APC’s leadership has expressed its commitment to ensuring party cohesion and addressing issues that threaten its stability.
