Dangote Refinery cuts petrol price to N970 in gratitude to Nigerians

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N990 to N970 per litre. This price cut, which was made public on Sunday, is being described as a gesture of gratitude to the Nigerian public for their unwavering support in the refinery’s journey to becoming fully operational.

Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, expressed that this price reduction was meant to appreciate the Nigerian people for their continued backing, which has been instrumental in the refinery’s success.

“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,” Chiejina said in a statement.

In addition to thanking Nigerians, Chiejina also extended gratitude to the government for its role in supporting domestic enterprises. He emphasized that the refinery is committed to maintaining high-quality, environmentally friendly, and sustainable petroleum products.

“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption, thus dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” he added.

This move comes as part of Dangote Refinery’s ongoing efforts to meet the country’s growing energy demands while ensuring the sustainability of fuel supply across Nigeria.
