NAHCON Approves Hajj Registration During Ramadan Fast

Abuja, March 1, 2025 – The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has granted a special grace period during the Ramadan fast to allow intending pilgrims to register for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, the Chairman of the commission, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, congratulated the Muslim faithful on the commencement of Ramadan, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the holy month.

“Ramadan is a time of profound spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and renewed devotion to Allah (SWT). It is a period when the doors of mercy and forgiveness are wide open, and the rewards for good deeds are multiplied,” Usman stated.

He reaffirmed NAHCON’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj exercise for all intending pilgrims.

“In light of this, a period of grace is given to enable intending pilgrims to register and make payments for their participation in the 2025 Hajj. We pray that Allah grants us the strength and wisdom to fulfill our responsibilities for the betterment of our communities,” he added.

Usman also highlighted that Ramadan is not only about fasting and prayers but also an opportunity to strengthen communal bonds, show compassion to the less privileged, and seek divine guidance in all endeavors.

He urged Nigerians to use the holy month to purify their hearts, renew their intentions, and strive for excellence in worship and daily conduct.

“I enjoin us all to rid ourselves of negativity that may hinder our progress as a nation. Let us fast with sincerity, seeking increased blessings for our country and its leaders. Additionally, let us pray for the success of this year’s Hajj operation and the safety of all pilgrims,” Usman said.

He concluded with prayers for Allah’s blessings and guidance during Ramadan, encouraging Muslims to maximize the spiritual benefits of the month.
