Obi Cubana Warned by VDM After E-Money’s Arrest

Popular Nigerian online critic, Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has stirred reactions online after publicly warning billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana. This came shortly after the release of music mogul Emeka Okonkwo, better known as E-Money, who was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

E-Money was reportedly arrested at his home on April 29, 2025, over alleged naira abuse and spraying of foreign currency at a public event.

Following his release, VDM took to Instagram with a video claiming that the EFCC’s real target is not E-Money but Obi Cubana. He alleged that during EFCC interrogations in Abuja, officials often ask young suspects if they know or have had financial dealings with Obi Cubana.

“You are more of a target than E-Money,” VDM warned in the video. “They ask boys if you’ve ever sent them money or if they’ve visited your place. They are building a case.”

The viral video immediately drew attention, including a subtle reaction from Cubana’s close associate and former staff, *Cubana Chiefpriest* (Pascal Okechukwu). Chiefpriest appeared to agree with VDM’s warning by liking the Instagram post.

Social Media Reactions

Nigerians flooded the comment section with mixed views:

– Zinytheexplorer: “Even the rich no get peace.”

– Iam_2simple: “Now he’s targeting another Igbo billionaire.”

– Gcw__: “EFCC na Yoruba and Hausa organizations against we Igbos.”

– Official_austin001: “If Okoya’s son can’t face the law, then this is war.”

The debate also touched on ethnic bias, with many users questioning EFCC’s motives and balance in arrests involving wealthy figures.

Meanwhile, E-Money posted a video on social media with a gospel song playing in the background, suggesting relief or gratitude, although he did not directly confirm his release.

As developments unfold, the public continues to watch closely. Will Obi Cubana respond, or will more high-profile names be drawn into the spotlight?
