The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ghana is set to host its first official event under the 2024/2025 administration. The event, a Unity Hangout, will take place at the Legon Botanical Garden at 12 pm, and is organized by the NANS Ghana Executives.
The motivation behind the event stems from the promise made during the inauguration of the new administration. The NANS Ghana leadership had vowed to promote unity among Nigerian students studying in Ghana by creating interactive and engaging programs. This Unity Hangout marks the beginning of those efforts.
Speaking about the event, the organizers expressed their excitement to connect with Nigerian students from different institutions, offering them an opportunity to meet, network, and build stronger bonds. โWhat better way to start than this?โ they said, emphasizing that the aim is not just to socialize, but also to create a platform where students from various schools can interact and have fun.
The Unity Hangout will feature a wide range of activities, including popular games such as Call of Duty, Scrabble, chess, karaoke, charades, treasure hunts, ludo, and card games. The event promises an afternoon of entertainment and friendly competition, with plenty of refreshments to keep participants energized.
Although the event is expected to attract a large number of students, there will be no special appearances or formalities, as the focus is purely on creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere outdoors.
Students from various institutions including Methodist University, Zenith University, Westend University, Wisconsin International University, AIT, Regional Maritime University, SIIMT, and Open Lab are expected to attend.
The NANS Ghana Executives hope this event will be the first of many aimed at fostering unity and camaraderie among Nigerian students in Ghana.
