Passion for Excellence (PAFEX) – A youth development initiative agrees a collaboration with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) – An initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Abubakar Mohammed, NPM, mni.
Mr. Amobi Madu, the Founder of Passion for Excellence (PAFEX), accompanied by the organisation’s Lead Strategist/Creative Director, Comr. Onyekachi Michael, paid a familiarisation visit to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Enugu State Police Headquarters, to strengthen ties with the organisation while proposing their interest to collaborate with POCACOV.
Mr. Madu professed that his ever gleaming passion for all-round quality growth and development of young people has caused PAFEX to readily be on the search for good initiatives that will help develop the young child and the quest brought him to the knowledge of the POCACOV project, hence wants to identify and partner with the initiative.
He percieves POCACOV as the right initiative for the right time and cause and therefore commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Abubakar Mohammed, NPM, mni for conceiving and birthing such a unique policing program, with broad community inclusion strategy, easy to replicate and very effective in the fight against cultism, the mother of all crimes.
In his words, PAFEX has partnered quite a number of brands like Treasurewells Film Academy, Google, Ogelle, All Africa Media Network and more, to produce events and trainings for the young people in various cities in Nigeria, with upcoming SmartPhone Film Making Workshops scheduled to hold in Accra, Kigali and Capetown soon.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, Anipr, Cipr, expressed their unalloyed willingness to partner with brands like PAFEX who are societal positive change agents and have the core mandate for community development.
He further offered ambassadorial status to both representatives of PAFEX present, stating that POCACOV represents a new approach by the Nigeria Police in combating cultism and other vices, where proactive policing strategy is adopted and encouraged over reactive policing.
He added that, the project which seeks to drive the development of local solutions to such local problems like cultism has hence led to the adoption of community policing amongst other policing strategies as key to community stakeholders cooperation and participation in the fight against this evil wind that blows nobody any good.
In his final words, the National Coordinator of POCACOV reasures the commitment on the part of the Nigeria Police Force to this timely project, and invites all well-meaning citizens and stakeholders of this great country to join hands with the police to save our youth and in extension, the entire society from the claws of Cultism – which he described as an envelope containing many crimes and vices.
In response, PAFEX reassured the Nigeria Police Force of their readiness to continuously strengthen collaborations and engagements with the revered unit (POCACOV) to exterminate cultism, restiveness and all other vices from our society.
