Afreximbank President to Deliver Lecture on Insecurity, Poverty

Benedict Oramah, the esteemed president of the African Export-Import Bank, is set to deliver a thought-provoking lecture at the Goddy Jidenma Foundation Public Lecture in Lagos this Thursday. The event, organized by the Goddy Jidenma Foundation, will tackle pressing issues under the theme ‘Governance, Insecurity, Poverty, and Socioeconomic Development in Contemporary Nigeria and Africa’.

Ije Jidenma, the executive secretary of the foundation, expressed her anticipation for Oramah’s insights, citing his significant contributions to developmental finance in Africa. Oramah, known for his impactful publications, including ‘A Path to Making Africa Great Again’, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the discussion.

The Goddy Jidenma Foundation, established in 2007 in memory of Arc Goddy Jidenma, is a notable non-profit organization dedicated to addressing critical issues facing Nigeria and Africa. Jidenma emphasized the foundation’s commitment to fostering dialogue and proposing viable solutions to pertinent challenges.

The foundation’s lecture series, initiated in 2009 with an inaugural lecture by the late constitutional lawyer Ben Nwabueze, focuses on enhancing the foundations and institutions of democracy in Africa. This year’s lecture continues the tradition of addressing issues of national and continental significance.

Registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission and audited by PKF Professional Services, the Goddy Jidenma Foundation operates under the guidance of a distinguished Board of Trustees. Led by Chairman Pat Utomi, the board comprises esteemed individuals such as Justice Rose Ukeje, Victoria Taylor, Obidi Ezenwa, Zik Obi, Chidi Ilogu, Stella Okoli, and Ndidi Nwuneli.

The foundation benefits from the expertise of leading-edge consulting firms, who provide advisory services pro bono, underscoring their commitment to driving positive change in society.
